Paraty International Literary Festival - Can't go? Watch online

The Paraty International Literary Festival (FLIP - Festa Literária Internacional de Paraty) will open today. It is the seventh edition of this successful event held every year in the historical village of Paraty, located on the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro. With authors coming from all over the world as well as renowned Brazilian writers, Flip is an exciting "party", a festival of ideas and words which attracts book lovers, authors, publishers, translators and artists. This year, according to the organizers, those who can't go to Paraty will be
able to follow the events online: http://www.flip.org.br/aovivo_2009.php. I'm especially looking forward to hearing Jon Lee Anderson (New Yorker staff writer and author - Che Guevara, The Fall of Baghdad) on Saturday, Ma Jin and Xiran on Thursday, and Atiq Rahimi on Friday, but there will be several other interesting talks. Check all the information about the round tables and talks here http://www.flip.org.br/index.php (in English). Follow Flip on Twitter: http://twitter.com/flip2009.
